About Us
Road Safety Matters (RSM) is an Independent Consultancy Practice based in North Kildare. Established in 2009, we offer nationwide services to public and private sector clients in the specialised field of Road Safety, which includes Road Safety Engineering, Accident Investigation (AI), Accident Reduction (AR) and Accident Prevention (AP).
Road Safety Matters (RSM) can provide this service through an Independent Team of Consultants, with qualification and specialised training in accordance with National Roads Authority (NRA) requirements, and significant knowledge of the Road Safety Industry both Nationwide and Internationally.
Road Safety Matters (RSM) was established to meet the needs of a growing Road Safety Industry, prompted by recent changes in Legislation and Industry Standards and a renewed focus on European and Global Road Casualty Reduction Targets.
The services provided by RSM enable our clients to avail of tailor-made outsourcing to help reduce their business costs and overheads, and increase efficiency and value, and our head office location in the midlands means we are ideally placed for strategic assistance nationwide.
RSM provides Road Safety Advice, Auditing, Inspection, Investigation, Education and Research as well as Transport Infrastructure Design & Impact Assessment and Traffic and Transportation Planning Consultancy Services to the Private Sector, to Private Developers, to Local and Central Government Transport Agencies, to Roads and Planning Authorities and to Educational and Industry Institutions.
RSMs current portfolio in the field of Road Safety encompasses a wide range of projects, which we continue to expand upon as the company establishes itself further in this field throughout the country. We seek to apply engineering principles and judgement into every solution we find, whilst integrating safety into every aspect of our designs to ensure a holistic approach to each project from planning right through to construction, with the aim of increasing efficiency, optimising capital spending and reducing the risk of road collisions as well as overall project expenditure for each client.
RSM also offers a support service to clients in helping to reduce their temporary resource shortages and business costs, by enhancing team capabilities on an ad hoc basis, both during the project tendering process, as well as through involvement on framework teams throughout the project lifetime, with no commitment during times of unsure workload and budget constraints. RSM can also provide in-house staff training as necessary, in accordance with the demands of a client’s business and projects.
The RSM team is dedicated to providing a service which advocates and encourages a co- ordinated approach between all private and public sector stakeholders, to ensure that the design of safer facilities and the issue of road safety and safe engineering best practise is cascaded throughout all organisations responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, operation, evaluation and enforcement of the Irish road network. This ethos is backed up by the technical knowledge and expertise needed to provide concrete and workable solutions.
We at RSM are passionate and committed to using our skills to help save lives, and to make Irish Roads and Sustainable Transport Systems safer and more efficient. We participate proactively in and strongly advocate all Educational and Research activities which benefit the Road Safety Industry and also help to increase public awareness of the importance of safe behaviour for all road users.
